Wollongong Infrastructure Update
Wollongong is undergoing significant infrastructure upgrades to support its expanding population and improve liveability. Here are some of the key projects in the pipeline:
Housing and Community Expansions: The West Dapto Urban Release Area is one of Wollongong’s largest residential developments, with thousands of new homes and essential community infrastructure planned. This long-term project will support population growth and create vibrant new neighbourhoods.
Transport Enhancements: The Wollongong Integrated Transport Strategy aims to make public transport, walking, and cycling more accessible. This 10-year plan, shaped by community input, focuses on reducing reliance on cars and improving connections to town centres, schools, and work hubs. Additionally, the strategy includes provisions for electric vehicles and enhancements to footpaths and bike networks
New Business and Recreational Spaces: Port Kembla’s revitalisation includes more public spaces, better waterfront access, and commercial growth opportunities. Another key project, the Grand Pacific Walk, will extend scenic coastal pathways to boost tourism and local recreational use
These initiatives align with Wollongong’s commitment to sustainable growth and enhanced quality of life, making it increasingly attractive for property investment, business, and community life.
